OC FoodTEC is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Internal Revenue Code (β€œCode”) section 501(c)(3). including advancing education and developing the workforce to benefit the community. 

In the current economic environment, there is a direct correlation between training, education, and economic opportunity. The goal of OC FoodTEC is to provide lower-income workers with the new skills required to succeed in obtaining higher and more sustaining wage jobs, primarily in the food and hospitality sectors. By providing workforce training and education, OC FoodTEC is familiarizing learners with job opportunities and assisting them in developing their capabilities, thereby enabling them to achieve better economic and social outcomes. 

OC FoodTEC is achieving this by providing training and credentialing, such as certification, as well as career counseling and job placement assistance, so as to open doors to better-paying jobs within the industry and provide opportunities to gain work experience to allow participants to find fulfilling careers.

OC FoodTEC focuses its workforce development activities on the food and beverage and hospitality industries within Orange County, New York. Its mission is to prepare food service and hospitality workers for and connect them with higher-paying jobs with sustainable wages. OC FoodTEC is collaborating with various local employers to offer training at low or no cost to their employees through our programs.

Employer participation helps ensure trainees have access to on-the-job training, and employers have access to trained workers at the end of their program of studies. 

With your support and donations, we can carry out our mission of supporting the economic development of Orange County and its surrounding areas through workforce development opportunities to assist low-income job seekers and workers in obtaining and advancing in jobs that provide sustaining wages and benefits, primarily in the food, beverage, and hospitality sectors.
